Today, in an interview with PCMag said RIM VP of Developer Relations, Alec Saunders, that the first BBX-powered BlackBerry SmartPhone is the same resolution and aspect ratio as the BlackBerry Playbook, have a heft resolution of 1024 × 600th Alec stated that the reason RIM decided to do this to ensure the highest degree of compatibility with current applications that were written for the playbook. Alec Saunders also pointed out that the device is BBX's full support for their proprietary BIS and BES a service that millions rely on every day function.
While on the screen resolution seems to be quite high, higher than Apple's "retinal display," it is not always count the pixels, it also comes on the screen itself. RIM said a few months back that we expect to see the BBX powered phone sometime in the first quarter of 2012, ie, 2.0 shortly after the start of the Playbook OS.
