BlackBerry Messenger to version 6.1 in beta zone update
You are one of the privileged and have a BlackBerry Beta Zone account, an updated version of the BBM maybe available for download. The latest version is packed with a host of new features and improvements.
Key features include:
Animated Avatars - You can now access a selection of animated GIFs that come alive as you move through the avatar. Three animated avatars as part of the beta as a sneak peak (including a "smile", "laugh" and "in love") - come with a greater variety of launch.
You can access avatars, if your display picture in the avatar folder and can source your own animated GIFs
12 new emoticons - expand the range of expression available to meet your calls with12 new emoticons, select Add.
Personal Message size increased to 160 characters - we've doubled the size of personal online storage space to 160 characters. The previous limit was 80 characters.
Colored balloons - Adjust the color of the balloon with 10 colors to choose from. You can pre-assign these colors to your contacts by simply going on in your BBM contacts' profile and select the desired contact chat color from the palette.
Camera / Avatar Integration - Now you can update your BBM avatar right from the BlackBerry camera app by selecting "Set as BBM Display Picture" from the menu options.
